Pastor Gary Currie
The Lord has placed a calling on Pastor Gary's life to seek the lost and to teach the Saints, preparing them to do the work of the ministry of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.Gary was born near Los Angeles and is the eldest of 4 children. He moved with his family to Colorado at the age of 8 and lived there till he joined the Marine Corps Reserve. During his time in the Marines, Gary had the opportunity to serve in many different locations, to include the Pentagon and other Military Commands in the Washington DC area, Central Command and FMF Pacific. Gary’s early religious upbringing included attending various Christian churches such as the Friends Church (Quaker), and Baptist Churches.
Upon leaving the Marines, Gary worked as a scuba instructor and later began a career working in medical devices where he currently works as a Medical Device Engineering Manager for a well-known company, as well as being our pastor.
Shortly after leaving the Marines, Gary began attending Horizon Christian Fellowship where he rededicated his life to the Lord. Due to relocating to North County San Diego, Gary then began attending Calvary Chapel Oceanside. While there he volunteered his time with the High School youth group, teaching Sunday School for 3 years.
Gary and his wife of 29 years, Denise, began attending Calvary Christian Fellowship (Coastlands Calvary) in 2007, becoming an Elder of the Church in 2008. In 2013, Gary became the Senior Pastor upon the retirement of the previous pastor.
"As a pastor I am just a sub-shepherd to the one Great Shepherd, Our High Priest Jesus Christ. It is Jesus that sits at the right hand of the Father and makes intercession for us. It is Jesus that directs us and gives light to our path. My role is to tend to, and lead the flock where the Lord guides us."

Trust in the LORD with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct your paths.
